The event was established by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) in 2000 and has since been celebrated every year to increase awareness about the importance of IP rights for individuals and businesses around the world. April 26th is the day on which the Convention Establishing the World Intellectual Property Organization entered into force in 1970.<\/p>\n<p>Each year, World IP Day has a different theme that highlights a particular aspect of IP. The themes have included topics such as \u201cInnovation \u2013 Improving Lives,\u201d \u201cCreativity \u2013 The Next Generation,\u201d and \u201cPowering Change: Women in Innovation and Creativity.\u201d The theme for the year 2023 was \u201cWomen and IP: Accelerating Innovation and Creativity\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>The celebration of World IP Day typically involves various events and activities, such as conferences, exhibitions, and workshops, organized by WIPO, governments, businesses, and other organizations around the world. These events aim to raise awareness about the benefits of intellectual property and encourage the development of innovative and creative ideas.<\/p>\n<p>Intellectual property rights help creators and inventors protect their creations and promote innovation and creativity.
